This month we’re introducing you to Molly and Molly!

UUK: Welcome to Queer Love you two! It’s so good to have you here with us – for those who aren’t yet familiar with you; Molly and Molly are travel enthusiasts who live in Nashville. They started their relationship as a long distance couple and are now married, finally living with one another! During this interview their be sharing all about their relationship as well as some educational LDR tips and advice!

We start off every Queer Love feature by asking how the two of you both met! So Molly and Molly, how did you find each other?

M+M: The two of us met through the Tinder app. Both of us were scrolling through just looking for some fun, but ended up finding much more than we would ever imagine. As we were scrolling in August 2017, we both came across each other with different reactions.

For myself, I thought it would be funny to date or talk to a girl with the same name. For my wife, Molly A, she was all about appearances and didn’t even notice my name.  Fast-forward, I reached out with a classy one-liner, “nice name”.

She responded “touché”.

We instantly connected, text and FaceTimed daily, waiting to coordinate our time to meet up for the first time.

UUK: So that’s when it all began – a classic one liner and the rest is history! When did you realise you had feelings for one another?

M+M: We had feelings for each other almost instantly. It was different from what either of us had ever felt before. There was butterflies, passion, joy and such a yearning for each other. It was on our second time meeting in person, we had been doing long-distance for a few months, when we finally expressed to each other that we loved them. I said at first, quietly, but passionately.

UUK: Hitting us straight in the feels with that! We’d love to hear more about your love story and your marriage!! Tell us everything!

M+M: Our day could not have gone more perfectly. We were married on June 5, 2021, and we’re super excited for our first anniversary together. The wedding took about 15 months in the making, but it was well worth it. we got engaged in March 2020, just as the pandemic was taking over the world. Navigating a wedding during that time was challenging and confusing, and left with much uncertainty. We chose a venue in Vermont, where we felt we were best represented in our relationship and a venue that mean our hearts flutter too. The day was set to have about 80 of our closest friends and family, a number that we felt was just right for us.

Four months before the wedding,
the venue informed us that they were not going to be able to host our wedding due to the Covid restrictions still in place.

We thought that we were in the clear as most of our guests were getting vaccines, but that was not enough for Vermont. As we were frazzled and sad, we thought about all of our different options. Molly B’s mother is an executive chef at a wedding venue in Rhode Island, the state where we met for the first time actually, so it was fitting to relocate.

It was not exactly what we envisioned, but we were determined to make it work because I love you so much stronger than any venue would hold us back to be. We got married looking out on the water and said I deal in front of all her friends and family with a crisp ocean breeze and the sun shining down on us. We looked out at the moon and danced under the stars during our reception, just being with each other was enough and we could not of asked for a better day.

UUK: Nooo! I can’t believe what an experience you had; that is crazy! It’s reassuring to that despite the pandemic you still managed to have your special day in the best way. What makes your marriage even more special (jn my eyes!) is that you started off as a long distance couple – do you have any advice or guidance for our readers who are also in a LDR?

Molly and Mollys LDR advice;

M+M: We were long-distance for two years. Those two years were not easy; there’s no way to sugarcoat it either. What helped us, was a countdown for the next time we were going to see each other, the next phone call, and we try to keep it interesting and exciting every time we saw each other. We constantly were utilising video chats, but also found it important to have space to enjoy those around us. We had a routine of seeing each other every other weekend, and that worked for us.

We just knew what the end result of living together was going to be,
so that motivated us to try as hard as we could to make this work.

I think communication and passion throughout our long-distance relationship is what has helped us to get where we are now. It is well worth it if you try your hardest.

Never lose hope or sight of the goal.

UUK: Thank you for communicating with such openness and honesty! I’m sure the audience are really appreciating it! It seems as if the key to a successful long distance relationship is to keep working forward with one another. Speaking of looking forward – what are you plans for the year? Any travelling?

M+M: There are lots we are looking forward to in 2022. We are travelling to Alaska this summer, and have gotten many of our friends and family to also tag-along with us. Seeing the breathtaking beauty that Alaska has to offer is one that makes us anxiously excited and motivated to continue our day-to-day life. We have no other travel plans just yet, but we always find time to do a weekend trip when we can, but usually those are more last minute.

We also would love to grow our family this year,
so that is some thing that we are excited to be in the process of.

With marriage, the pandemic, and our work lives, we are learning to grow with each other and putting obstacles behind us. Love grows so much deeper when there’s passion and desire and motivation to do so!

UUK: Thank you SO much for being part of this feature – it’s been really great to talk with another long distance couple! I am so confident that your words are going to be really insightful and also supportive to our readers! We wish the best of luck with your future plans Molly and Molly! Maybe we could do another interview this time next year with updates of your life in 2023!
