Liyah – Stop Sexualising Queer Womxn

Too many times my sexuality been mistaken for a “sexual endeavour” by people, cis heterosexual men in particular

My sexuality is not a topic of sexual discussion or domination. My sexuality is not to be sexualised by your fantasies and expectations or who you think I should be. Please stop telling me “I bet I can turn you straight” or “give me a chance you’ll see” or “you haven’t experienced real penetration” … this is not okay.

I hold my sexuality with so much grace, it is not the entirety of my multi faceted being, it is a part of who I am. It is not okay to constantly encounter a vast amount of uncomfortable situations such as the above. It is not okay that so many of us have constantly encountered a vast amount of uncomfortable situations such as the above
.
Why are lesbian/queer women sexualised constantly?
Why are these advances and conversations deemed as “normal”?
Why are we being told we are too sensitive when our sexuality is constantly sexualised?
