Chris & Alex – Stop Sexualising Queer Womxn
Whether we’re on the road traveling, at a bar, or even in the privacy of our own bedroom, what takes place between us is FOR US exclusively and no one else.
We’re proud to be a part of the @unite_uk1 campaign, joining dozens of womxn globally in the call to action to stop sexualizing queer womxn. As we stand in solidarity with others who have been subjected to such behavior, we’re sharing our personal experiences with you all:
C: As two women in a same-sex relationship, there’s been more than one occasion where we have been solicited by a man for a threesome. It’s incredibly disheartening how queer female relationships are not respected the same way heterosexual or even gay male relationships are. It’s almost as men feel comfortable with asking these kinds of things of us because there is not a man physically present in our relationship to deter them or ward them off. These prompts have come from strangers in person and online, and even casually from male coworkers. We are in love, not dating to entertain a fantasy for others. We even had a man comment on our photos, “Disappointing, this is not like the lesbians on pornhub”. Our relationship is real and valid, not a porn script!
A: My experience is a bit taboo: I’ve been objectified by straight women in the past, especially during my academic years. As a butch/androgynous-presenting woman, I’ve had my heart broken and have been sexualized as a gateway for curious girls that got drunk at parties. I’m not, and have never been, an experiment. My sexual orientation is not your welcome mat!

If you’ve been on the dealing end of these remarks and actions, DO BETTER and hold your peers accountable for doing better. We always vie for education over cancellation when it comes to people understanding our relationship.
